Can the car be programmed so the mirrors fold in when fob removed from dash and then fold out on ignition?

No.

If yours is pre facelift (and you have leccy folding mirrors of course) you can fold the mirrors by holding the lock button on the fob for a second or two, which is quite cool, they open automatically when you unlock the car then.

Post facelift they don't do it any more..

I employ a small albino boy to jump out of the boot and fold my mirrors when needed.

Personally now the semi-auto feature has gone, I just press the 'fold' button as I open the door.

That's my 'auto' feature now....
