Can I tell My SA that I scanned the car??

Just wondering..

I went in because I had scanned the car and found fuel pump codes. They replaced some sensors and said it was all fixed. I am going to scan the car again and see if the codes have come back. If so, can I tell my SA that I scanned or had the car scanned and it said I had fuel pump codes?

Thanks
Alex

They can't knock you for scanning the OBD port but, if you don't want them to go digging around on a mod hunt, just repeat the normal HPFP syndromes: long cranks, rough idle, sudden lossof power/limp.

I wouldn't.

Always play dumb when it comes to getting warranty work done - infact, drooling on yourself will help your cause.

So true. I took my car in recently for wastegate rattle and left in my turbo gauge. They called me up later and asked 'so we see you have a boost gauge do you have anything else done like software?' I reply... 'what is a software'.
Dude says ok and they go about fixing it. Also on the phone he tried to initially blame the guage for the rattle lol.

He calls back the next day telling me the issue is with the wastegate i say 'whats a wastegate is that the exhaust or muffler or something' i could tell the guy was trying not to laugh in my face but all went well i got my car back another 2 days and it was 100% fixed.

Aright I will just say its still having long cranks and a rough idle..

I was asked the same thing about any software updates when I first when in for a wastegate rattle. Its back so Im going to go and tell them again. Just add it to the list of things I need to get fixed when i get there

best would be to just send your GF or wife in short skirt saying there was a weird light coming up and the car was very slow.
