Weird Autometer Boost Gauge Issue
I ordered this boost gauge recently:
http://autometer.com/cat_gaugedetail...id=3662&sid=66 it came with this unit as the pressure sensor http://autometer.com/cat_datadetail.aspx?pid=41 I am just wondering how the hell I am supposed to connect that to a Vacuum line. The instructions (http://autometer.com/productPDF/1241.pdf) arent helpful at all. The "hose adapter" that came with it doesnt fit over the sender and there was only 1 that came with the kit anyway (meant to be used on the T). |

Why did you have to be baller and get the electronic gauge? A regular mechanical gauge would have sufficed. But I believe it's a MAP sensor so you will need to drill into your intake manifold possibly? That's at least where my MAP sensor is on my M3.
Or why can't you just do this: http://www.autometer.com/productPDF/0569A.pdf Just get the tubing adapter, then T it into the vacuum lines between the diverter valves like in the Rix Effect DIY.

Go to Napa or whatever auto parts store is local to you. Get a 1/8 NPT nipple. Screw it on(use some teflon thread tape just in case), and hook the vaccum line up.

I did. this gauge has an electric sender unit that is shown in the pictures however it is meant to be drilled into the intake tubing/intake manifold and i didnt feel like going to the trouble of doing that. Ill post a pic of what I did later but all i had to do was run the vacuum line from the T to a 1/8" compression to 1/8" female NPT converter that screws into the MAP sensor.
