off duty police officer tried racing me? GTA
i was coming home from my girls house ~2am tonight, getting off the dvp at yorkmills im in the right lane turning west, new mazda speed 3 on the left turning lane. i looked over and saw a fairly large dude and i thought to myself...it would be funny if he was a cop (i dont know why, just one of those random thoughts).
light turned green and he tried to cut me by turning into my lane and he quickly stopped (his bov blasted) as im going down towards donmills he comes behind me in the right lane tail gating, swirving left and right so i moved over to teh far left lane and put my window down to give him a piece of my mind...red light at donmills/yorkmills he asked "is that a 335...x?" im like ya, what the fuck are you doing, hes like you sure? wanna race? i just give him a wtf look and hes like "IM NOT A COP, RIGHT NOW. we can race up to 60 so that its not considered racing" my thoughts are wtf is this foolish person talking about. lights turn green and i give it a bit of gas nothing serious and hes driving next to me screaming YOUR FUCKING SHIT IS SLOW AS SHIT....he slows down gets behind me and turns left into upjohn street (same street the 33rd division station is at) and all i can think about is what the fuck just happened. its odd, nothing there to go to on that but the police station at this time, if he was a cop then thats just some bullshit to be honest.

That's messed up; did you get plate #? No harm in reporting the plate # if you have it but I doubt any cop would risk his job by pulling the stupid stunts you described especially nowadays when everyone has a phone with a cam but who knows, there are some cops out there that ego trip off and on duty.

OP just because you only go up to 60 doesnt mean you are not racing! I know the law here in PA will nab you for reving your engine at another person while sitting still at a red light, so WOT to 60 will surely get you a loss of license (here that is). So good thing you refrained as I was tempted by a popo once and wouldnt you know another one of his buddies was sitting right up the road! Then again street racing was pretty big here for a while and police were really cracking down on young kids for it.
If nothing else he coulda got you for excessive aceleration.

If it was me I would have gotten his plate down, drive into the station and report the bitch just for the hell of it. Wouldn't this fall into the category of "entrapment"?

I would have taken his plate number and reported him at the nearest precinct! What an idiot.
Sounds like he had a chip on his shoulder about something.. Maybe a BMW violated him as a child

You were smart not to play along - cop or no cop.
Section 172 of the highway traffic act can interpret almost anything you might have done (other than breathing) as stunt driving - and all that implies. That's why I doubt it was an officer. They really don't need to go to such lengths, they can apply s172 more easily than that. Still...if thinking that helps avoid trouble...maybe that's what everyone should run through their minds ;-)
