Why are Daytime Running Lights necessary?
I didn't know that there was a difference between having Daytime Running Lights and just switching the light selector switch to just powering on the angel eye rings. I just assumed that when you turn on your angel eyes with the selector switch, you're turning on your DRL's.
Is this really bad for my car? Why is it necessary? And though i've read my manual, I don't understand the reason or the purpose behind the ability to only turn on the rings by themselves to begin with. Can someone please clarify this? I purchased new angel eyes in hopes of having clearer rings during the day as opposed to the almost faint yellow stock ones. Having just learned this, I want to know how bad it is to prevent unnecessary damage to the lights. Thanks |

because people don't pay attention as it already is, so they needed a way to make yourself even MORE visible to others around you in hopes that they MIGHT see you instead of hitting your car.

also in some countries , if not all , it is a legal obligation to have low beams or DRL on roads outside cityes. It is a saftey measure so the other trafiic participants see you better , especially in poor light conditions like sunset or sunrise.

Q: Why are Daytime Running Lights necessary?
A: They’re not “necessary”. You can deactivate the daytime running lights by changing the settings through the car’s instrument cluster computer.
