CMGS meth injection flow mapping + solenoid update

Many months ago we started working on a solenoid option for those that prefer a solenoid. Personally I prefer a checkvalve for its simplicity and reliability but alot of customers do like solenoids and I use them at times as well. To make sure we have options for all customers and to make sure we have th best possible solenoid we really made sure we over engineered it.

Solenoids can be a tricky thing. There are many things you need to take into consideration when designing. These include the physical size of the valve, pressure rate, body material, flow rating, seal material, orifice, and more. Just like when we upgraded our hose to the most robust available, we are doing the same with the solenoid. Just like all major water/meth manufactuers have our pumps made from the same company, our solenoids are made by the same company as well. What seperates each company from each other are the controllers/failsafes available. Having said that while our solenoid is made by the same company as our competitors, we upgraded ours beyond current specs to have the most robust valve around. This solenoid can flow just over 1 gallon per minute, which slightly exceeds what the pump can do.

From the picture you will recognize the solenoid right away. If you pay close attention you will see some differences with ours. These solenoids are very robust with a body of stainless steel, EPDM seals, etc. Our valve is different as we went with different internals to allow for 300 PSI of back pressure. Other valves on the market are rated at 150 PSI. We believe since our pump can put out 250 PSI of pressure, we should excede it with the valve.

These valves are very small, but when you compare to the 150 psi valve, you will see ours has about 3/16 of an high more height and about 1/4 inch more on the diameter. This along with the internal changes allow us to have a higher pressure.

I dont want the tone of the email to sound like I am bashing the other valve, fact is they are made by the same company as ours. I just want to convey the differences between ours and some of the other valves you may see on the market. It costs about 30% more to make our valve, which is why you will see 150 psi version on other kits. We wanted the best because we know you want the best. We expect this solenoid to be in stock in about 30 days.

For those of you that are doing progressive flow mapping you can use the diagram below. For those that have the failsafe enabled and are using the yellow wire for something else, there is another way to activate the solenoid which we will supply a diagram shortly.

a) Isn't FS OFF controlled by parameter 13 instead of 12? See note in your drawing.

b) Will the yellow wire safely handle 2 amps like the solenoid may consume?

our solenoid works fine with the CMGS wire as our solenoid draws less than 1 amp. If you have a custom solenoid and choose to use this diagram, you may need a relay if its more power hungry than ours. Yellow output wire can run 1 amp max.

Our solenoid has an amp draw 600-620mA at 12-13 volts input. Some of the 150 psi valves that you see have a 15W coil which will pull approx 1.2 amps...

We set ours up with certain specs so it works well with our system.
