BMW M Bicycle

Munich. The BMW M Bike is a spectacular combination of state-of-the-art technology and exclusive design. Disc brakes and an elegant matt anthracite frame with the M logo combine perfectly with the leather saddle, stunning rims and handles, and shiny red seat inlay. Characteristic of the entire M collection, which, like the BMW M model itself, stands for the extraordinary and unique.

The thrill of speed.
Anyone who rides this sporty speed bike through the city or takes a short tour through the countryside will immediately attract a lot of attention − at least for a few seconds. The high total gear ratio transmission delivers astonishing speed.

The best of the best.
The BMW M Bike’s fi’zi:k saddle is made from the highest quality leather with a red inlay. This ensures extra riding comfort and superior grip. The built-in Shimano SLX gear system is light and sturdy. The Manitou Match suspension fork on the front wheel is incredibly durable and the disc brakes make for a clean stop.

Starting in June 2010 BMW M Bikes will be available in a special limited edition at select BMW dealers and online at www.bmw-shop.com.

Here you’ll also find choice textiles and other accessories from the M Collection, including the M Cabin Bag, a travel bag made from the finest leather, or the M Shoes − black sneakers made from a leather-nylon mix, designed in cooperation with Puma.

BMW's M division has developed a new speed bicycle for more serious cycling enthusiasts. The BMW M Bike will be produced in a limited edition, and will be sold both online and through certain BMW dealerships.

The 12.9 kg (28.4 lb) bike will be sold in three different frame heights. It is construced out of aluminum, and features the Match front suspension fork from Manitou. The springs used in the suspension have an 80-millimeter deflection.

Engineers installed a fi'zi:k leather saddle with a red insert. Other features include disc brakes, and a Shimano SLX component group/gear system with a high gear ratio to optimize speed.

The BMW M Bike will be available from June.

As nice as it might be.... I cannot even fathom how much you would get laughed at out on the trails with that thing.

And I'm sure it'll be $9,000.

What the hell? 28.4 pounds? 80mm of suspension and what appears to be a hardtail? What a mess, not that I'd really expect a car manufacturer to really get bikes. Seems like BMW and MB have already butchered bikes before.

at least they could have rebadged a santa cruz, titus, turner or any other quality mtn bike. plus, 80mm of travel in a hardtail today just seems pretty crappy. might as well save the weight and go w/ a rigid cro-mo or AL fork

I got all excited this was going to be about a S1000RRM haha. Not that that bike needs any more power.
