Official customized BMW watch thread

Im about to start working with my uncle that is a professional jeweler to see if he can add a BMW roundel to a Citizen watch. If you are interested in the idea and would purchase one if we get one made please let me know. I just decided to start this so ive barely even started the footwork but i will be updating when i find out what he can do. I need some help finding a roundel that would go in the watch though. So PM me if you find one we could use.

I was thinking this would be a good watch to use. what you guys think?

Take the roundel from the key fob. Oh wait, there's no room for it on that watch.

Maybe on a simpler watch. Putting a roundel on that watch would make it look clustered and cheap IMHO.

he was just trying to give you some info...If you want to do this for yourself that's one thing, but I wouldn't try selling them to anyone.

Not only that but your uncle cannot just modify the design of the citizen watch by himself without getting a permission from the citizen (which i HIGHLY doubt) regardless of his dealer status. But, if this is a private sell, both parties wouldn't give a damn unless your uncle starts to sell couple hundred of them.

Anyways, your effort and idea was good and there must be a buyer who would like to purchase your idea, however, does it worth it for your uncle to crack it open and stick the roundel and sell it for a little to no profit? I doubt it, unless you do a group buy and sell it below the retail.

Huh? Where'd you come up with this idea? He can customize whatever he wants. Can you put a Toyota emblem on the trunk lid of your Bimmer without permission from Munich? Heck yea. This is America - you can do whatever the heck you want.

To the OP, why not just buy a good watch with a BMW Roundel?

I said he can't resell them as a licensed dealership in public, but yes he's free to sell privately in low volumes.

I think its cool what the OP is trying to do. Yeah, if he tries to sell it mainstream he could get in trouble legally, but having people customize their own watches is not violating any branding laws.

only thing is.....I thought wearing a BMW watch would be totally cool too....that is until my wife told me that I would look like a BMW salesperson.

oh....and I remember the days when Citizens would be selling for $50. Thats why I was bashing it

bummer, but true. that's why the "bimmerspinners" are no longer available.

copyright infringement for starters, but a nice thought!
