I just recently purchased preowned e92 with 38K and I've had it for about 1 month now, I love it so far up until today.
I decided to put the car in "Sport" mode on the freeway for a little fun being it was a nice day (60F Low humidity) and when I punched it up to about 80mph my car jerked and a engine light came on, the one that shows half/half engine?? And when I got home, I put it on park and revved it, there was a sound coming from the engine bay that sounded like a buzzing noise or another way to describe it was if you was to put a small bead into a can and shook it.... Turned off the car, turned it back on and the light was gone...I drove it around the block, no light...I punched it down the street hitting about 5k rpm and the light came back on....I did this a few times shutting the car off and then punching it again...Light comes on and off. The buzzing sound is still there. Taking it to the dealer tomorrow and be like "wtf mate!" I would have gone today but they're closed on Sundays. I'm scared shitless.... summary: drove the car "hard" half/half engine light comes on buzzing noise from engine bay on throttle engine light comes on and off What could it be? btw, there is no real noticeable power loss. Sounds like a vacuum line could have popped off. Since the throttle is making a sound, check the chargepipe connection on the throttle body. After that, I would inspect the DV's and all the other vacuum lines.

Did a search and it seems like it could be a wastegate failure? I watched a video on one of the threads and it sounds just like it...
BTW if a charge pipe comes off the car would pretty much go into limp mode or shut off, so I defiantly don't think it's that. If a vacuum line popped off I would notice loss in boost/power. |
