Hi, I'm visiting London for a week and was considering what accessories I could purchase that are either not available or cheaper than what I could get in Hong Kong. Does anyone know if BMW dealers participate in the VAT Refund Scheme so that I could get the VAT refund when I leave the UK? I am considering purchase of the Alpine Hifi upgrade kit, among other things...but I have a strong feeling that BMW parts departments would not waste its time with the forms, etc. required for the refund scheme.

You will need form number (VAT 407) but not all retailers participate in the scheme and some that do have a minimum spend limit, you need to ask the dealer in question really

For the small amount of money saved (in this case) it would hardly be worth the hassle?
