E90 Sedan M-tech Rear Bumper. help!
Does anyone know if the M-tech rear bumper sits lower than the OEM rear bumper? (distance from the ground to the bottom of the rear bumper)
I thought about a rear lip for my E90 sedan, but I rather go with one piece rear bumper that is lower than the stock bumper. Only reason I want to change my rear bumper is because I think E90 OEM rear bumper is a little too high for my taste, making the car look like its holding it's ass up.

It is indeed somewhat lower on the lateral portions... directly posterior to the wheels. The portion along the back side (you know, below the trunk latch, etc)....pretty much the same. It is not very dramatic as you will see from pics, but it is lower.

so Im guessing if you look at it from the side, it looks lower. but if you compare it directly from the rear, OEM and m-tech bumper is exactly the same in terms of lower-ness? Is there even enough difference that you can tell? Also, do you know if you have to adjust the way the stock exhaust sits to make the m-tech bumper fit? Sorry for so many questions. I could really use some real owner's advice. thanks!! |

but if you compare it directly from the rear, OEM and m-tech bumper is exactly the same in terms of lower-ness? Exactly. The angle is less steep...more flat, so it looks lower (butt does not appear to go up as much as stock...even though if you measure the lowest points, they would be almost the same.) Is there even enough difference that you can tell? Also, do you know if you have to adjust the way the stock exhaust sits to make the m-tech bumper fit? You will be able to tell. The average person...probably not. No adjustments to exhaust needed.
