Porsche club woohoo
Spent 2 days with the Porsche club at Thunderhill. Loved it. Precious few open laps but had a great time. This is the first club I've driven that really wants you to be a faster driver.
Pulled a 2:11. I was on a good one at 2:00 flat exiting the last turn but a slower car was in my way and had to slow. it takes a little less then 10 seconds to get to the Start/Finish from the last corner. Drat!! Gonna be on R compounds next time I'm there and hope to officially break 2:10. I'll miss the Direzzas. This is some slower laps playing around with some very cool Porsches. BTW. The guy in the brand new GT3 RS has only had the car for a week and he was at the track driving as hard as he could. Very cool. http://vimeo.com/groups/hpde/videos/10529549 |

![]() What's your take on your StopTech BBK? Until now I was rather considering Brembo or AP Racing, but have no particular bias. Alpina_B3_Lux

Hey Pete, Thanks. Will respond to your email.
Th StopTechs are great to me but I have nothing to compare them to. They seem to offer the most value in a BBK. Brembos seem to offer the least and I don't know about AP Racing. With that said, those are all great brake brands. |

The Porsche Club here (Houston) does a great job with its DE's. I've done one in my (unfortunately) plain jane 911 and I tried to do one in the 335. Unfortunately, the power steering pump seized before I got to do any hot laps. My instructor did get a few laps in it before it broke. I thought you might enjoy his comment. Said as he was passing one: "You won't have any trouble with Boxsters in this car."
The Porsche club here has many other types of cars participating in its DE's. Friendly welcoming people, even when I did show up with a BMW. Getting a slot can be difficult because the events sell out quickly, but if you get the chance . . . . I might be willing to kill for a GT3. Doesn't even have to be a RS. I enjoyed your video. |

I know what you mean. Messing with Porsches on a track is about as good as it gets, especially if you can surprise them a bit. I've done a couple of track days in the 335 since that first failure. The pace of the car has impressed several fellow participants.
