What would be a good offer?

A local dealer has a 09 328i coupe which virtually has no miles on it (54). I priced a 2010 and the Invoice is $42,500. Minus the rebate, that would make it $40k. The dealer has the 09 at $40k. 2 questions, what would be a good offer since the vehicle is virtually 2 years old now since the 2011's are out? Also, how much value does the vehicle lose every year? Thanks

kbb.com, that is kelly blue book. Go to the website find out how much it's worth. The only thing I would tell you is you can do a whole lot better with the amount you are willing to pay.

Personally I'd look into a CPO '08 335 and try to save another $5-$10k. But to your original question, consult KBB, edmunds, etc. Also do research on autotrader and cars.com to see what comps are going for in your region.

If you rely on KBB, Edmunds, etc., for used car pricing you will definitely overpay. I recommend getting a temporary subscription to "Galves Auto Price List" to determine the wholesale "trade-in" and "market ready" values of the car before making an offer. Knowing the car's wholesale price will probably save you thousands of dollars when negotiating the final sale price. http://www.galves.com/

Good luck.

According to KBB, it has it at $40k. I'm definintely not paying that for an 09 since I can get the same price for a 2010. I was thinking about $35k and up to 40k out the door after everything. I am definitely not goin with the 335 due to its HPFP problems. I do alot of traveling and need a reliable car.
