The man can't divulge his secrets. Especially with the Xede guys peddling their wears around here. Just be like me.. I don't care how it works, as long as it works. I can't wait for that box to show up at my house.

Did they not say it happens when cold?

SFLgator, I think you are in a really hot place too compared to AHY and the other two posters. I notice they all point to the cold start being one of the factors under which this shows up. I placed my ED order and think I will buy the Procede, take it with me on the trip and go bahn-bashing when I pick my car up. I will post the expirience here and make all you Procede owners wish you could rewind the clock...hahaha.

If you get it in time, then go for it and HAVE FUN!!! Of course, either way, it will be a blast and a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Yeah, and I was up super early this morning and left @ 6:15AM. Although my car was in my garage all night, after leaving, my temp gauge in my car said it was 42 degrees F; my car was still super smooth from the cold start all the way until it warmed up...no cold-start issues here.

Ok, fine, then riddle me this...

if there were "some cars" that have issues with the XEDE, how can you be sure that there wont be "some cars" that have an issue like this with the PROceed.

All I care is that you know why it happened, and you know exactly how you fixed it... not just a "the proceed fixed this"... like it just went away, and you didnt know why...

Men hide in darkness when their deeds are evil...

Label me paranoid, I dont care... I just want to make sure I get my $1300 bucks worth, and dont end up going into limp mode, and using the OBD scan tool to clear errors all the time of course

BMW uses the ZF G 6-speed manual transmission in the 335i as well as the 330d and 330dxi.
I checked on the Europeans BMW web sites, and the 335D is ONLY available with the 6-sp autobox.

Do you have credible source about a 335D manual?

We isolated the cause of the problems with Xede and fixed them with the PROcede. And since that took a lot of time and effort, its not in our best interest to disclose this info. I don't know what is so strange about that. Nor do I know how anyone can fault us for keeping this info to ourself. I think we've disclosed more information about 335i tuning than any other tuner on this forum. I don't think its unfair to not give up all our secrets, no? Everyone wants to make sure they spend their money wisely. And we're doing everything we can to show what our product does in the field, in actual customer cars.

The PROcede doesn't do any adaptation itself. All the adaptation is done in the factory ECU. And it does a pretty darn good job of it. However, it does have its limits and it always helps to use a PROcede map that best suits the level of modifications. That said, we do map cars with exhaust systems a little bit differently than totally stock cars. Usually, we can tune a car with an free flow exhaust a bit more aggressively because it is not get choked up with as much knock-inducing exhaust backpressure.

WilyB, according to the BMW literature the 335D is only available with the auto. The 330d is available with the 6-sp manual, but not the 335d.

With that much torque from the 335d you could do some damage to a drive train with a manual if you were reckless. Maybe BMW didn't want to take the risk.

Shiv-

So I expect to have my preordered Procede way before the Vishnu catback is shipping (wink, wink), and I was wondering if the "stage 1" map is a free upgrade with the future exhaust? Also, will the the more agressive map produce the same gain using another aftermarket catback exhaust?

Nicely said. As long as it works, and my driving experience is improved and my baby doesn't blow up, I AM HAPPY . I think everyone, despite our LOVE and NEED for better performance (despite the already sick OEM specs on our cars) don't want to see a 50k car screwed up, that is all.
