Ok there is one thing i dont understand on this thread when people are saying to take off at 2.5k-3k.
1. For starters the 335i is a twin turbo car, therefore turbo lag a minor, for most turbo cars, yes you do need to raise the RPM in order for you to get the best launch, but not on this one because your full torque/HP is at 1.8k,and trust me your Run flats will not handle the full 300 tq. 2.This 335i can be very easy to drive, if you just pay attention to what its doing. For example: the throtle is not an ON and OFF switch,go smooth on it to eliminate wheel spin, also remember that every street is different, temperatures are different and every car is different. So practice the perfect launch for your car,not what driver A or driver B is doing. Manytimes when i Instruct at Pda performance driving school and i get these people who claim the car gets a 4.6 or 5.2 0-60, i tell them to prove it for me,and trust me more then half of them get a .5 to a full second more. So please stop magazine racing, it's not reality. 3. |

Sorry if this sounds dumb, but do you mean switching DSC completely off (pushing the button for 3 seconds) or just partially turning it off (pushing the button briefly so that the DTC light pops up on the screen)?

Ok dumb question
I do realize it isn't good to hold the brake down with the DSC and DTC off, then flip the steptronic over to M1 and smoke the tires.... but it is damn fun....
When doing this to warm the tires what specific damage am I causing? any? besides of course burning my snow tires down... but who cares... thanks fellas

holding the brake and applying throttle will damage your transmission by cooking the oil inside. this is common knowledge on E46Fanatics, but people on this site seem to think it's not true for some reason.
