Should I tint the rear or install the rear sun blind?

I have the sun blind for the rear corner windows in my E92 and I love 'em. I also ordered the rear sunblind but I'm not comfortable drilling the necessary holes in the car to install it. I'm also worried about it rattling when playing music or when I hit a bump. It's heavy duty (really heavy duty) and I'm probably just over thinking that aspect of it. I got a price from Hassell BMW in Freeport over the phone of $800.00 to install it. I told them I have the sun blind already and the guy said the price was all labor (even though he wouldn't tell me how many hours it would take). So I considered tinting the back window only at about 20%. I loved it on my last car and for the first 3 years I only got ticketed once but the last two years NYPD and Nassau County PD screwed every chance they got. The front windows are going to stay stock so I'm not worried about tickets this time around.

The thing is that 20mins later I called Rallye BMW in Westbury, NY and they told me it should roughly cost 1.5hrs in labor and to bring the car and parts in tomorrow for a definite price. I'll do it for 1.5hrs in labor but if they're using that as a way to get me to the dealership just so they can quote me $799.99 I'm gonna be pissed.

I'll probably end up tinting the rear 20% if I don't get the sun blind installed and 35% if I do.

What would you do?

One other thing about Nassau County Police.

I had 3 county officers and one state trooper tell me that they use the tints as an excuse to pull drivers over so they can look for other stuff (mary jane, open bottle, warrants/open suspensions, leisurely driving on a restricted/conditional license, etc.).

I want to keep the front windows and rear corners factory. I just don't like the sun beating up the rear of the car. The rear corner sun blinds look like 20% from a distance and up close they look like 35%. I thought about tinting them but after installing the sun blinds I love the look (especially with the little BMW logos on them). From the side it doesn't look badly uneven at all. The rear is my only area of doubt.

If I can get the rear sun blind installed for a reasonable price then I'll probably just do a 50% tint in the rear and keep the blind up all the time.

I should but I don't know who to trust with this type of install.

One other thing. Tischer shipped it to me without instructions so I figured BMW techs could look it up instead of guessing.

I saw the DIY on installing it but as soon as I saw drilling involved I knew I had to pay to have it installed.

Here's some photos of the rear corners with the sun blinds installed. It's been raining on and off all day so the car is dirty and the lighting sucks. I'll try to take better pics tomorrow since the sun will be out all day.

I went to Rallye BMW this afternoon and they gave me a pretty decent price on the install so I may have the sun blind installed tomorrow pending a price quote from Sal from Autocouture. I have to admit that Sal is quick to reply and professional and I would definitely trust him/his shop with any work on my car.
