Sunroof doesn't vent...Is this normal?
So I remember on my E30 the sunroof could either open all the way, or move up about an inch or two just to let some air in the back. My E90's sunroof opens, but doesnt do the venting thing even though I've seen other cars with it open like that. I push the sunroof button forward and nothing happens. Is this normal? I don't want to go to the dealership and demand they fix my sunroof when theres nothing wrong with it, but I'm pretty sure I'm missing out on something. Advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

My sunroof just decided that it does not want to work at all now!
Worked fine last week, went to use it the other day and Notta, Nothing.... There was no indication that anything was failing on it either. Well Until I can find time next month to take it to the dealer I guess I can be happy that it is in the closed position! Glad to hear that you figured yours out and that your still works. 2006 330i Premium/Sport Pkg Bradenton, Florida

My friends used to tease me about my E30's manual sunroof. Kind of funny when you look back at it. If you wanted to open it up you'd be in the car looking like youre jerking off the roof.

Resetting the Sunroof... I looked it up and it states to push the sunroof button up and hold it for 20 seconds etc... I tried it several times and even held it for as long as 45 seconds and it did not even begin to budge. There is no warning icon on my IP so I have no idea why it all of a sudden decided to stop working. I have a few other items I need the dealer to look at anyway (Intermitant annoying squeak in the steering wheel, a rattle somwhere by the passenger seat, Xenons do not seem to move with steering anymore, & sometimes when I start it (as I just did trying to reprogram the sunroof, it had a rough idle that you can feel slightly shake the car) the car had only been sitting for about an hour so it was not a cold start. Using top tier 93 octane gasoline always. 33K Miles on the OD But it does what it is supposed to on the hi-way and that is Pass Other Vehicles with little to know effort and repond in a blink when changing lanes! And dumb @$$ me put a nice curb rash on my right rear rim the other day!
