I live in Lumpkin County and on HWY 52... You guys would jizz your pants seeing the roads that I drive on daily.

This is the calmest section of road. If I turned around at the beginning there are miles of twisties, and if you head torwards Amnicola Falls those roads are intense and freshly paved.

I talked to him yesterday, not to answer on his behalf but he said the idea of driving a fairly old vehicle (the supra) as a daily driver might not be in his best interest. Keep pushing him to get the 135i!

Nivedh: thanks for explaining. I don't have Active Steering so I suspect my steering is stiffer too.

Dalton: Did you make it to the twisties?

Ciao,

Well i just thought i would report back to you guys now that I am finally home after that fuckin crazy weekend.

on thursday i was heading up to zdayz and i got a nail in a run flat... this made me decide to get non run flats (sumitomo htr z 3's 235 front/265 rear) which was one of the best decisions ive ever made. The car performed amazingly well on the dragon all weekend (which btw was not busy at all). This is literally the first time i can really say that i drove the car hard for an extended period and i loved it. It really makes me not want to sell it but thats not really an option.

Anyways obviously the weekend was filled with lots of drinking which led to my burning of about 5 gallons of methanol in various shapes in the street at the cabins. Ill throw up a link to a picture in a minute but i think its gonna be the intro to the zdayz website in the near future.

Edit : here is the first Z i did (keep in mind this is ~8' x 5')

Another thing though is that i really think we should organize a bmw meet up there. That place is so much fun and if we could get a lot of people up there with some sponsors it wouldnt even have to be expensive. The cabin rates where we stayed (Fontana Village) are very reasonable and the driving and scenery (ala fontana dam) are absolutely incredible. I cannot stress enough how fun it was and i am definitely going to zdayz every year. Even the drive up/back from atlanta was fun as hell ESPECIALLY if you take 19 all the way up.

I dont know how interested you guys are in going but I would love to help organize something like zdayz for us BMW guys. It is way too fun not to do every year.

Edit edit : also I am thinking about a TON of different options for my next car (vette, evo, 135i etc etc). i keep getting shot from people cause i cant make up my mind! but yeah the supra is out as my dad said its probably a bad idea to daily a 20 year old car :/

My family has a estate in Waynesville, NC aka entrance 4 of the Parkway. It's straight up 985 through Gainesville and Rabuns Gap.

EDIT: Cool just saw your pictures! Looks good!

Awesome! The dragon is hella fun. I used to go with the MR2 club led by Brian Hill when I had my s2k a few years back. I also been there with the STI, and it definitely is a blast to drive on.

We should definitely organized events. S2KAtlanta used to host bi-weekly meetings which was always fun. Nothing beats getting off work and having a drink or two with the crew!

I also got a chance to talked to Changaroo, and he asked me to take a role to see who is interested in doing the photoshoot. The sooner we find out, the sooner we can arrange the event.

The dragon is my favorite I used to drive that weekly.

Hopefully our facebook group will help bring structure as well as a solid communication hub.

Thanks for that.

Let me get a list of members who would like to attend the photoshoot event. The price varies, the more people we have, the lower the price will be. I'll try to keep this list updated. I'm still working on a date but it will most likely be on the weekends.

I'm interested depending on the price and scheduling - seems like my weekends are busier than my weekdays at times!

The schedule is not set in stone. If majority of the members want to shoot on a Friday night, we can make that happen.

I got some pricing for the shoot. If we can get 5+ he can hook us up at $40 a person which is a damn steal! If you know anything about private photoshoots, you know we are getting a hell of a deal. He is a really good friend of mine so he is willing to help out.
