Well, the title pretty much says it all. I have been checking my vehicle production status on BMW's hotline on a daily basis since last thursday and it automated customer service keeps tellin me "Your vehicle is at the port of exit awaiting a shipping vessel. There is no shipping information available at this time."

Is this normal?

Check with your CA, he/she can run a more accurate check than the BMW hotline. I checked mine today because it showed up as at the VPC in Baltimore, but the hotline gave the same response that you got.

Your car may also be on the water before the tracking system updates to indicate this so take it all with a grain of salt even though I totally understand the anxiety!
Thanks. Its a long tough wait but i know it will be worth it.

I found this just now. Maybe there might be a connection.

Update!

My car is now in transit. They must have resolved the missing seat part issue.
