Best place to buy used e92 m sports?

I have been looking around recently at the best places to buy an e92 m sport 325 or 330 and there doesn’t seem to be that many about?

I'm looking to buy one next year and am just doing some research now into how many are on the market / how feasible the idea actually is.

I want to spend less than £25k and for this money I haven’t seen any white ones for sale at all, which isn’t a deal breaker but would be nice to have the choice. Generally I am looking to buy a white / black / sparkling graphite.

Other than pistonheads, autotrader and bmw used approved is there any other good locations to look at?

Maybe I will just have to sit back and wait around the time of buying until a good one crops up.

it can me a bit of a waiting game, i think you just have to be at the right place at the right time. you might find the perfect one(s) right now and not be ready to buy, or there might be none that are up scratch when you are ready to buy.

they are the only places i looked when i got mine so cant recomend anywhere else

white ones are quite rare though and at the moment carry a bit of a premium ive noticed

Agreed, but in a years time (when this guy is looking to buy) I honestly don't think supply will be an issue; About 3 years ago, when white started to become the en vogue colour again, lease funders were swallowing the potential risk to the residuals, lots of people were specifiying them - there'll be loads of them about, I'm sure.

If not, find your ideal spec (other than colour) and wrap it.

Happy hunting.

I was looking for a 335i Coupe for ages but eventually sourced one at Barons of Farnborough. I did most of the negotiation on the phone as I live in Cornwall. I travelled approximately 200 miles to seal the deal & found them absolutely excellent. I was not disappointed & would definately use them again.

to the op

325 and 330 are tough to find, because generally most e92 (at least when i was looking) are specced as either 320, or 335 and little in between. i put this down to the 'must have a bmw, but a bit cheap' crowd vs the 'i have too much money so will spec everything' crowd

for me i wanted the economy vs the 6 cyl, as i'm sure you have been through the same thoughts as your after a '25 or '30..

white is/was a very in demand colour.. i remember checking out a pretty poorly specced 1.5yr old white 320d at barons (interestingly enough) about a year before i actually bought, and they wanted just over £30k, and for what it was thought it a bit steep so left it..

for my car it was definitely right place, right time.. i purchased it on the 27th of december '09 after seeing it on xmas day whilst attempting to escape my family.. drove 100+ miles and snapped up an ABSOLUTE bargain with loads of toys...

one thing i will say though, if you think £25k is too much then i'd not bother with any AUC ones from dealers

Yea I agree fully with this, I wouldnt mind 335 but unfortunatly for me as I didnt learn to drive earlier in life so insurance is a bit too steep, I dont want to pay £5k on insurance for it

Also I think the 325 [3 litre] or 330 is pretty fast as it is, especially coming from a mk2 gti 8v

Indeed, it is especially galling as the 335 is (generally) not all that much more moneys used for the same year! I have same issue w/ insurance ;(
