nav disc - scamera update
i have done that DIY thing to update the files to include all the scamera stuff... and the section does show up under "car" (although i thought it was set to go under travel) - but when you click it it says "no locations available" or something to that effect...
am i doing something wrong or have i made the disc wrong? the files must be ok cuz i had them off needforspeed isnt there an easy way just to switch selected POIs on and off? i dont really get it all yet... i went to satnav->picked a location->instead of choosing guidance chose information->scrolled to scameras and got the above message... is this actually the way to get stuff to show up on the map or does it just display a list of them in the area for you to set as the destination? |

Attached are the files I have used & they work fine (assuming you are using the 2007-1 SatNavPro disc). You will still need to build the 0099.IDX & 0100.URL files yourself & put them into the correct location in the iso image. The POI setup in the Nav is a total pain in the ar*e- you just can't have multiple types of POIs on the screen at the same time. You are choosing them the right way, though- through information. When you click on, say, a particular hotel, you can get more info about it, like the phone no, then you can call it up, if you have your BT phone connected. To switch on/off the viewing of your last selected POI type, just click on the icon half way down on the left, on the Nav screen. All the best. Viv |

hmm, i thought i tried that (pressing the "i" thing) but nothing came up, i'll have a play...
also, i thought this version (07-1) had a postcode search? if it has i cant find it EDIT: also can i just add... i've done the update now and they all show up nice... but i changed a few of the names of the things (small things such as "Hotels and restaurants" i changed to "Hotels & Restaurants") - but these updates dont seem to have taken place for some reason... i did these updates in the eng.lsc file any idea why it didn't work? heres a clip of the code: Code:
TPD-CAT 7384 N Bus Stations TPD-CAT 7387 N Park & Ride TPD-CAT 7395 N Rest Areas TPD-CAT 9000 N UK Speed Cameras TPD-CAT 9101 N Golf Clubs TPD-CAT 9112 N Theme Parks Last edited by ZiM; 03-06-2007 at 04:19 PM.. |

If you really want to, then have a look at step 14 of the DIY. As well as altering the eng.lsc file, you also need to edit each of the relevant sf_ & st_ files, as shown in step 14. eg say you want to change 'Golf clubs' to '19th hole', do this: the TPD-CAT is 9101 (step 4) the TPD-SEV for 9101 is 0029.idx & 0030.url (step 7) Edit 0029.idx & 0030.url - you need to edit a total of 3 sets of 'Golf clubs' to '19th hole' in 0029.idx & 0030.url (step 14) Finish off as shown in the DIY This thread really belongs in the 'Audio/Video' thread &, really, should be part of this thread, however, I won't hold it against you this time ZiM! Also, the 'i' thing will only work if you can actually see the speedcams listed in the poi information part of the nav- as you've already said- you are getting 'No information available'. You need to make sure you have followed the instructions completely & correctly, in order to see the list of speedcams in any particular area- if you still see 'No information available', then the disc has still not been correctly edited. All the best. Viv |

hmmm, that makes sense, but the new speed camera entry shows up as "UK Speed Cameras" whereas in those other html locations is says "Speed cameras" - so it is taking the cue from the lsc fine and not the others... no?

It's under 'car' because I added it to group 1001, which is categorised as 'car' on this version of the disc. The references in the htm files are just text to display on screen. |
