Where can I find 8mm and 6mm spacers ?
Hi,
I am thinking of buying a set of wheels which require spacers to fit good on my car (18" VMR VB3 ET40 front and ET45 rear). I would like to use 235/18 tires in front, and 265/18 in the rear. I would like to bring the wheels to an almost-OEM offset of ET34 in front and ET37 on the rear (these are the offsets for the OEM 193M wheels). So I need some odd-sized spacers: 6mm in the front and 8mm in the rear. Does anyone know where can I find some quality spacers with these sizes ? Thanks !

I'm no expert, but it doesn't quite work that way...you need to take into account the width of the wheel as well. I believe the stock wheels are are 8" and 8.5" while the VMRs are 8.5" and 9.5".
Using the calculator above, you can see that a 8.5" VMR wheel with a 40 offset extends to the same point as your stock 8" wheel with a 34 offset. Likewise, the rear 9.5" VMR wheels with a 45 offset will extend an extra 5mm past the outside edge of your stock 8.5" wheel with a 37 offset. Width those offsets, however, the VMRs will look pretty "tucked", even more so than your stock wheels. |

If using 5mm spacers all around, using the calculator I see that the new fronts extend 5mm over the stocks (and also extends 7mm inwards, I wonder if it can clear the brakes), and the rears extend outwards a full 10mm...I wonder if this fitment is ok ?

You should have no problems with that setup. +35 offset (+40 plus 5mm spacer) on a 8.5" is pretty standard conservative fitment for the front. For the rear, +40 (+45 plus 5mm spacer) offset on a 9.5" should be fine on the an LCI. Check out this thread for pics, it's a 9.5" width tire with +45 offset: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=300390
