Smile 9x18 ET40 225/40/18 tyres?

Helloooo

I'm looking at some alloys and the rears are 18x9 ET40 and the tyres they are offering are 225/40/18 the same as the fronts that are 18x8 ET42.

Will 225/40/18s fot the wider rears ok and will they fit my E90 ok?

Thanx in advance!

Spoony

The 225/40's will give off a slight stretch on a 9.0" wheel.

You'll probably want to throw on about a 12mm spacer for a more flush fitment in the rear.

Overall, the fitment will be perfectly fine even if you dont use spacers.

Thanx for the reply

Do you think its worth upgrading to 255/35/18 rear tyres? They offer it as an upgrade.

Nice idea about the spacer I think I will see what they look like and decide from there.

255 will definitely give it a fuller look and have a more aggressive stance if that is what you are going for.

I'm running 255/35-18 on a 9" wheel at the rear, excellent size and width. With 225, you'll probably see more wear on the inside edge due to stretch and neg camber.
