Finally bought a 320d M Sport! *pics added*
Well guys just put a deposit down on a 2006 320d M Sport with 73k miles. Absolutely chuffed to bits and will collect it tomorrow! Best bit is I've bought the car from a guy I know who has owned it from new so I know the car is 100% genuine with only 1 owner from new, never been damaged and full service history. The car is black, usual M Sport refinements plus factory privacy glass and 18" MV3 alloys.
Must say I'm chuffed as I had originally only budgeted for an SE but I'm very glad I went the extra bit and hung out for an M Sport. Got a few questions though.. 1) How hard is it to retrofit BMW bluetooth and also iPod control, and do the parts come up often second hand? 2) I would quite like a bit of extra power and have been quoted £230 by a reputable local tuning company with a very good reputation for diesel remapping. They say it takes power to 199bhp and torque to 411nm. How does this sound? Are there any better products available for similar money? 3) I don't really like the down turned tail pipe. Does anyone know whether a 330i back box will fit? I know where there is a box sitting from a 2009 car with twin tail pieces, and I could lift it for next to nothing if it will fit straight on! That's all the questions for now. I'm sure more will come in time! Last edited by Rob55; 07-15-2010 at 02:04 PM.. |

Just collected the new car, and I have to say I am chuffed to bits! Just took some quick photos to show how she looks at present before I add a few touches to make her more "me"..

Forget the BMW bluetooth retro-fit - it will cost you thousands. An aftermarket system would be much cheaper and will actually work with your 'phone.
For the iPod integration, do a search as IIRC, it has been discussed to death on the forum - again very expensive and some people have installed alternatives - but I don't remember any details. |

Try a search on "Parrot" on here, the systems are excellent so I'm told.

I have a Parrot CK3100 and it works with any 'phone I've used it with. Oddly, not one of the phones I've used are compatible with BMW bluetooth.

The door stickers are coming off, they're from the previous owner's business. Also that's his number plate so it's coming off too but I'll be putting on my own plate anyway.
Bluetooth and iPod modules don't sound good, will have to put the research in, I can't see why it can't be done a lot cheaper using second hand parts. So far my plans include: Twin tail pipes (same as 330d) Boot spoiler Lowered Remap May also consider black kidney grilles, but not sure it it would be OTT? |

Looks good. Whilst you're modding, try and find some LCI lights to lose the Mr Kipling pie tin lights.

Well the door stickers are now off and the whole car is de-tarred and clayed, ready for a long detailing session tomorrow, can't wait! Really chuffed as the paintwork is definitely original, not that I had any reason to doubt anyway seeing as I know the chap I bought her from, but this just confirmed it so happy days.
Just ordered a genuine OEM boot spoiler. On the hunt for lowering springs, genuine blacklines, genuine black grilles, and a decent tail pipe to finish it off! |
