Different catless DPs out there?
Hey All,
I'm new to the forum, will be taking delivery of my 335i this week I have a question about catless downpipes...what brands are out there? I have seen ar design, any others? I'm looking for the best bang the buck. Also, since the ar design is 3" all the way through, how do the flanges mate with the stock turbos & exhaust? tia for all your help! Chard |

ah, ok. I was mainly looking for installation tips. What is the stock exhaust diameter? not 3", right? I just want to make sure these would bolt up to the stock exhaust as I plan to keep it for now.
Man, these pipes are expensive! |

Cool, just curious how a 3" flange (on the dp) mates to the 2.5" flange of the stock exhaust. Isn't there an extra 1/4" on each side?
Haha. I used to have a pretty modded Audi A4, but since it was a 1.8tq, I only needed 1 of everything when it came to the exhaust. |

OK, makes sense. Their advertising confused me for a sec:
"The only TRUE 3" catless downpipes currently on the market! 3" tubing until cat-back flange - all systems currently on the market reduce to 2.5" much closer to the turbocharger." I guess that means it tapers down at the flanges, but other brands taper down right before the flanges? Anyway, if I don't need anything special to bolt them up, that's all I needed to know. Thanks |
