RTTI symbols

Anybody know where there's a list of RTTI symbols? Some of them I have figured out, but want to see a complete list.

They are in the manual I believe. A very extensive list.

Nope not in my manual. I don't even have anything on iDrive in any of the stuff I got with my manual. Luckily I've had BMWs for many years so I can figure almost anything out.

Somebody know?

I'm pretty sure there's a post on here somewhere with all of them. I can't remember exactly where but I do recall seeing it.

If you can't find it then another place to look is either in this forum or the bimmerfest forum there is a sticky that has an electronic version fo the manul (in PDF format) that probably has them.

Maybe your manual isn't up to date. The manual I saw has all of the symbols (way more a dozen). There are copies posted online and at the Owners Circle also.

I can only find manuals up to 2005 on Owner's Circle. Do you have some special way to get to the more recent ones?

Look here:

http://www.bmwusa.com/Owners/Owners_Benefits/RTTI.htm

under FAQ question "What is the meaning of the arrows and icons....."

The FAQ questions:

"How do I access RTTI?"
"Is there audible warning.."

also have good info and screenshots.

No, nothing special. I recall seeing a post possibly even here with a link to the PDF.

I checked all the manuals here and on Bimmerfest and none of them show RTTI. I had also remembered seeing the RTTI info and I finally found it on bmwusa as indicated in my post above.

Sorry. I hope I didn't send you on a wild goose chase.

I'm in the midst of a ThinkPad upgrade so I don't have some of my files on the new laptop yet.

The link you posted is a good one!

Just when I thought I finally got the list I was looking for, the descriptions are there, but the symbols are totally blank. Any suggestions how I get the symbols displayed?

Something wrong with your browser maybe? I just checked and they work for me.

I should've checked this thread before scanning my manual lol... my manual has it on page 150. But it's the same as that FAQ posted above, so no need to reproduce it here.

there was absolutely nothing in my manual about RTTI which is why I started this post. Maybe I got an early edition of the manual although I thought RTTI was offered from day 1.

The manuals posted here and on other forums have nothing about RTTI so apparently there was a lag before it got into the manual. It is my recollection that it was there from day 1.

I found these RTTI icons at the end of a multi page service bulletin describing this new nav function. source: http://www.bmwtis.com/tsb/attachment...TTI_FAQ_V1.pdf

Sorry I do not know what a blank white diamond icon is.

Icons background colors and Arrows:
-> Icons that appear on a white background are not on the planned route.

-> Icons that appear on a yellow background are on the planned route.

-> The small black arrows located on roads indicate the speed of moving traffic

I found the source document.
See Pages 4 and 5..

http://www.bmwtis.com/tsb/attachment...TTI_FAQ_V1.pdf

I updated post-19 with source url..

Last week I saw new one and it's NOT on the list posted above.

It was a large white circle with a black cross through it (sort of looked like the "no" icon only that has a single diagonal and the ink is red).

I noticed nothing wrong with the traffic in that area. Any clues what that was?
