It looks like it just pops up if you wedge something between the trim.

Here's instructions on how to install this KUDA mount for our BMW's: http://www.kudausa.com/manuals/29239...ab%2003-05.pdf

I tried to prise it off with a plastic tool but no success. I tried even harder but it only bent, didn't come off.

Subscribed in case someone figures this out. I also need to make a custom mount for a mini computer screen.

How is it held in there? Are there certain clips in certain spots? That could help us take it out easier.

Do it when the sun has been heating the plastic up all day.
Or use blow dryer. Cold plastic is a bitch.

Not sure if the original question about the center vent/speaker was ever answered, so here it is: The plate is held in place by clips around the edges, it doesn't take much force to get under them. But you need a very fine point to do so without damaging anything. I used an awl (like a very thick needle with a handle and it popped right up. My center speaker is still rattling after 3 trips to the dealer and one attempt to foam cushion it myself. The 3rd dealer trip they replaced the speaker itself and it's better but not gone.

Oh and once the cover is off you'll need a Torx allen wrench (because of the windshield angle a driver handle is too long) to undo the screws, because that makes more sense than just using Philips...
