Does this look like a lot of wheel weights?
I just had my wheel taken in to be straightened, as I had a small bend on the inside rim of the wheel and it was causing some vibration. After it was done, I drove back and still noticed that there was some vibration in my steering wheel at about 55 MPH. I checked out the rim, and it looks (to me) like a lot of weights were attached. My other side only has 1 weight.
Does it seem to you like a lot of weight? It was hard to get a good picture angle because of the design of my rim. Could it be possible that this one is straightened/balanced properly, and it is the other one that's not? When all the other wheels were inspected recently, they didn't see any issues with the other 3.

I bought a set of wheels/tires from another member here and there are so many weights on each wheel. He got them from tirerack though...with the tires already mounted and balanced. So I guess tire rack did that.

No that looks about normal compared to a new factory wheel. I believe each of those 5/6 weights shown in your pic are 5 grams each. 30 grams to balance a new wheel is not out of the ordinary. When you put over 60 grams to balance a tire(per side of the same wheel), then you can start pondering about the structure of your wheel.

Thanks everyone for the quick responses!
![]() Glad there's nothing to worry about. I guess it may be the other tire. Nothing has ever needed to be done to that one. What started my concern is that the front driver's side tire looks like it only has 1 weight on the inside. The one that was fixed was the passenger side front and it just seemed like a lot of weight compared to the other.

yeah when i balance a wheel at work, they all vary. your wheel looks nothing out of the ordinary. If there were that amount in 2 different areas on ONE side of the wheel (sometimes weights are required on both sides, inside and outside portion of the chamber), then you might want to check if the wheel is damaged, but that looks fine.
