Drivers door pull trim wear....
I've hardly been using the E91, but the wife is using it everyday. Its interesting how you start to notice the wear & tear more when you hardly use it!
Just little things, but the trim on the wheel and door pull are starting to peel away. This is the door trim... ...is this easy to fix? Anyone done it, how much is the part? The trim probably got scratched as I was leaving the garage remote control in there - so be careful. The wheel trim is fairly easy to sort I guess, and well covered in the "change your steering wheel" threads. |

Mine did exactly the same, although I have grey trim. A bodyshop removed the inner door handle and sprayed it for me. I also would be interested to know how much it costs to replace?

Mine is doing the same and I was thinking about going down to BM to get a part number/price. Might do later on in the week.
It's starting to do my head in now! Steve.

The steering wheel doesn't actually bother me nearly as much - even though it looks worse. Maybe it is because you touch the door pull every time you get in. |

Does anyone know the cost of a new door pull, as mine is in a worse condition than the featured photo. Never really thought about replacing it up until now

+1 - It's a thin rubber film, just rub it hard and it will all come off. It looks fine after it's removed.

Found some nice M3 steering wheels on ebay that seem to be genuine for around £154 - seems cheap for a pukka part though - are these the real ones, or just OEM replicas with tri colour stitching? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT Can't find the M3 trim piece on the bay - is this dealer only? Anyone know how much - I seem to recall the M3 one is almost identical to the M Sport one anyway, so assume they are a similar price. I think it might be good to get a new wheel with factory fresh nappa leather - the car now has 72k miles and the original wheel is just starting to get a bit shiney. I had intended to keep it until it is fully run in at 150k before selling - so it might be nice to treat it to a new wheel to freshen it up. Say if I keep it another 2-3 years, that's a bargain £50/year. Talk me into it. |

Seems a good price, i'd like one myself.
It sais "This is a genuine BMW part" but above, also sais "PROFESSIONAL REFURBISHING SERVICE FOR ALL VEHICLES - PART EXCHANGE AVAILABLE" So not sure if this wheel has been traded in for a new one, refurbished with new leather and stitching and is being sold as brand new from BMW? or wether it just is brand new? Mine is an auto with the padle shift, I dont see where these would bolt onto the back of that wheel? This s/wheel looks more M3 to me, note the leather at the sides is smooth and not dimpled like the average M tec wheel http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-M3-E90-E91...item33604f1a70

So even though the inner dor handle comes off, they don't sell it as a seperate part... I suppose that's why they call them Stealers!!! It's a shame, as I have the same problem with my missus Ford Galaxy, but Ford sell new ones for £18, so I bought one to store for when we sell the car so it looks new again. For the BMW I would suggest a breakers for the door handle then, maybe even taking a trip to one of the Breakes and seeing what condition they have in. |

No sign of the M3 trim part on its own, but the swedish shop do sell a complete M3 wheel with buttons & trim for about £400 inc P&P. This maybe a better option and look to sell my old wheel with buttons and trim for say £180....so £220 to change for totally new wheel (except airbag of course). Hmmm. |

The door pulls on our 320d are in grey and they are starting to look a bit tatty i think i will opt for masking them up and dusting them lightly with a grey aerosol.

my e90 has done exactly the same, but mine is the grey interior and when peeled off its black plastic underneath, so it looks even worse, but ive peeled most of it off and tried to take it off to spray, or carbon wrap, but it looks a pain in the arse to get off, i can get the window controls out but not the door pull, anyone know how it comes off?
