I think it's optional on e90. It's standard on coupe

It's nonexistent in the E90, at least what you're talking about (light bar in the doors). However there's the 4 cieling orange LEDs (two front, two rears, between the reading lamps) that provide ambiant lighting, to some extent.

Same place, by the dome lights.. also in the door trim along the length of the door

Which is nice. My 2006 325i E90 didn't have that! My current 2009 328xi coupe does. Just noticed it about 4 months ago after driving the car for nearly a year haha...I wish I could change the colors, orange isn't my favorite color, although it's far from my most hated one

Yeah, where? Unless you mean the LEDs in the Front Dome Light fixture, I don't have anything that would be considered ambient lighting as along the door trim.

The orange lights

Not sure the 2007s have it... Might be a 2009 + feature
I'll take some pics soon

Cool Good LAWD that's much brighter than mine

Here is a link to what my trim looks like - it's not my car, but you get the idea. I think it came with the premium or sport package or one of the bazillion options I got with the car

You should have it, it was standard in '07 on all E92's. If you have your dash lights turned off, you won't see it because it's controlled by the same switch.

Will have to look for that. Sure is a lot less than the Sedan Ambient Lighting as posted by onebadmofo above!

That IS the coupe in onebadmofo's photo. Sedans don't have it.

It's actually very possible. I haven't personally done it in a bmw but other things before. You'd just have to buy some LEDs online.
