I've just got round to asking Bowker Preston to price match a local garage and for those that are hoping for them to do your service work price matched I advise getting it done asap as the offer may not last much longer.
After reading Bowkers deal they will price match ANY garage or workshop within a 25 mile radius of there dealership, it does not have to be a specific BMW Indy either any garage will do. I contacted a garage called Signature in Preston and they quoted me £232 Inc vat for the following work and parts. Oil service (minus oil as Fuchs Titan gt1 supplied) Fresh oil filter Fresh air filter Fresh fuel filter Replacement crankcase breather valve/oil separator Bowker quoted £509 all in. When I asked for a price match and emailed them my Signature quote the service advisor didn't seem pleased and said she didn't believe they could price match it because they'd actually make a loss at that price. Signatures parts price was only fractionally cheaper the bulk of the saving came from labour as they charge £45 an hour and said it's only a two hour job. Bowker charge £120 an hour and say it's a three hour job. Bowker tried to play hardball but i referred to their offer promise and mentioned trading standards and with the dealer principles authority the price match was eventually honoured. Clearly a deal they won't make money on but I'm happy. Get it while it still stands guys. |

I've just had my 3rd service completed by williams stockport formerly david holmes. I had an oil service(3rd) so intake filter, fuel filter, then microfilter and brake fluid change, all in was £467.
They also updated the software (due to radio problem) and replaced one of the injectors under warranty. The car was returned clean and a oil and screenwash in a vinyl case was on the passenger seat. The sat nav is now the latest 2d with new mapping and more colourful display. |
