How long?!?!
Was just browing through the pics section of the site, and it looks like the lucky folks in the UK have already got the e92 (coupe) M sports packages available, and this guy has already taken delivery of one!

The question here is HOW LONG will BMW Australia take to get it here, every dealer i have asked has no idea, which quite frankly is not good enough.
I demand answers!

Jeez that does look very very nice!
Having moved here from the UK I've become used to BMW being so far behind and not knowing what's going on. For example, the 2 door 1 series is already on sale in the UK with price lists etc, but we haven't heard a peep here. Same goes for all the different engine variants - no 318 here for example. Then don't even get me started on the crazy prices on the higher end models - I refuse to buy them on the principle that it's a tax rip off. <rant over> |

But it's all worth it, because we get to live in Australia, and not the UK! |

BTW, I have put down a deposit on a Sapphire Black on Coral Red 335i M-Sport Coupe at my friendly BMW Dealership.
There is no official pricing for the M-Sport pack as yet, but going off historical prices, it will command a $5-6000 premium over the base model. I'll let you know official pricing as soon as it appears on the dealer website. As for lead time, they *expect* production to start in the next 2 months or so, with client delivery from October onwards....... perhaps November. Depending on when I find out my production date and estimated delivery date, I may opt to wait for a 2008 plated model. |

Merli - regarding 2008 plated model - are you going by build date or compliance date as the "plated year" ... seems to be an extra 2 months between build date and compliance date

If I decide to wait, I would be asking for a production slot in Week 2 January 2008. (I don't want a car put together by techs still hungover in Week 1 from New Years partying )

A friend of mine picked up his newly arrived 325 coupe less than 2 weeks ago. It was built in Nov 06.
Don't get fooled by the manufacture / compliance date as MANUFACTURE date is all that matters when selling. Of course, when a dealer is trying to sell to you, they will tell you the complance date is more important. It is what it is. Manufactured in 2006 means its a 2006... period. |
