Fog lights wont turn off with High Beams

Greetings fellow members;
I am in need of help in here. Yesterday i went (try) to get my state inspection but i failed because my fog lights wont turn off when the high beams are on. I was wondering if anybody has a solution to the problem.

Couple things that i thought it could be the problem (i havent try any of them yet, no time to do it)

Relay for the fog lights could be bad (not working properly)

Turn signal switch ( not sending the signal to the fog lights )

If you have any ideas or suggestions let me know. Thanks in advance.

So you need to check with the computer because I don't think you will address the problem with out the computer. :-(

You might want to check with the dealer to verify that the car is coded for US lighting requirements. If it is coded to ROW (rest of world), the fog lights will stay on with the high beams. (This is how it is with my Audi - when I switched the coding to ROW with a VagCom, the fogs no longer switch off with the high beams.) The no fog light with high beam is a US requirement only, I believe.

Did you make sure that they pressed the stalk in the direction that raises the shutter on the xenons rather than push it in the other direction which is just a flash to pass option and I dont believe shuts your fogs off.

PS. You're inspection station is a bunch of d-bags for snagging you on that.

I went back to the inspection station and told them a little lie, i told them that i spend most of a day at the dealer ship and that they had inspected everything and they couldnt find anything wrong. After that the inspector said "OK" you pass. He just gave up for my benefit.

Now i got my inspection sticker so i am good to go.

My fogs don't turn off with the high beams either. I'll turn on the HB's and I can clearly see the fogs turn on and off with the button. I'd rather have it that way.
