From the GIAC website on the Stage 1 tune:

"For optimum performance the software must be coupled with exhaust and intercooler."

So the car should not have catless downpipes for Stage 1, but the rest of bolt-ons are ok ?

I had the stage 1 race for about a week (before I went to stage 2 race) and the thing was a complete animal. The only difference was that the RPMs, although they raised quickly, seemed to be sort of strained to do the stock downpipes. So it was semi-struggling to rev. With that said, if you can, just go stage 2 and you will not be disappointed. TRUST me.

How long would it take to upload the stage 2 map after I already had stage 1 in the car ... ?

The reason is I am installing my Downpipes at another shop once I get my car back on Friday and then was thinking abt getting the Stage 2 uploaded. I will drive it without DPs on stage 1 for a week to test the car out first. I think this is a better option since you only need to pay another $200 to get the new software.

Thanks

same as stage 1, around 40 min. i would just wait to get the dps installed and get straight away stage 2 instead of stage 1.

GIAC is not going to flash you stage 2 with the stock dps in place. Just wait one week...

Got an email back from GIAC ... and they said that the car will run great with all the mods. Stage 2 is just a calibration that is specific to a set of mods and so that one can get the full power that can be offered.

Well thats great news! means they have fixed stage 1 to fit modded and unmodded. Really good!

Yeah your right ... but doesnt really matter since stage 2 cost $1000 and stage 1 $800 ... and I can upgrade for $200 so I only loose time for install. I have to wait for the downpipes to be installed too ...

But I get the stage 1 back tomorrow along with new suspension, BBK, Exhaust, FMIC, DV's, DCI, Vorsteiner kit for M-Tech. Then I need to do stage 2 and LSD.

Cant wait ... and update with photos coming.

"1+" as it is referenced, is actually a file for use with an upgraded FMIC, and factory DPs. I must admit that I am trying quite hard to keep it underwraps in an effort to control excitement/impatience=>

You ABSOLUTELY can run stage 1 with full bolt ons..as a matter of fact since GIAC is torque targeting you will see even lower boost than 14psi and wastegate duty cycles in the low 20% range..it a great way to make good power and run the engine and turbos effortlessly.

Mr 5 dynoed his stage 1 with full bolt ons and was making ~370 hp at 13.5psi
