New member saying Hello
Hi all,
I came across this forum a while ago and it seems pretty active! I have a stock pre-LCI '09 335i convertible, Msport, DCT, 225 M in Azurite Black metallic with Champagne leather. It's a lovely car to own & drive. My previous car was an RX-8, similar power to weight ratio but could not be more different to drive. Just had to replace the HPFP a few weeks ago, all the normal symptoms. Got the new one out of Germany (a 2 week wait) so I hope it's now fixed for good. I'll post some pics when I can. Cheers |

Thanks for the welcome John.
This BMW is by far the most fun car I have ever owned, I should have bought one years ago! Beats the RX-8 without a contest and even the Audi I had before that. |

Considering the relatively low number of both RX-8's and 335i's on Australian roads that's a significant stat! I wanted a car with similar power to weight of the RX-8 but with better driving dynamics and the 335i has delivered everything I wanted and more. Even with the turbos the low end power/torque delivery is streets ahead of the RX-8.
The build quality of BMW is at another level compared to Mazda - but that's no great surprise! |

Here are some pictures. The BMW Individual 'azurite black' colour looks totally black except in full sunlight, when the blue highlight becomes visible - you will see what I mean from the following photos (taken on two different days, sunny & overcast).

I've got a question which might sound irrelevant. Why do people cover their rego plates when they post photos of their cars? I wasn't able to figure out the reason behind it!!

Welcome Rubicon. Nice ride.
MO3... maybe for a sense of security? There is not much you can do from an internet photo though. Couple of reasons I can think of (albiet far fetched) Perhaps if you are on the forum and openly talking about your hooning adventures, you may want to cover your plates. Even then I'm not sure it would stand in a court of law. Also, maybe stating all the goodies and go-fast bits you car has and also showing your cars plates in the same thread could give ideas to theives?
