Estimated E92 M3 specs- 0-60 4.8s!
Reading this article on the new M3 from C&D, a couple things stood out:
http://www.caranddriver.com/carnews/...-m3-coupe.html BMW est 0-60 of 4.8sec - Given BMW's history of overdelivering, I suspect mags test out 4.4-4.5. That my friends is 335i PROcede's territory given the ongoing slew of real world data from the PROceded folks! Niiiiiiice! (in Borat speak) Est Price of $60,000, about 10K more than e46 M3, that seems about right. That means a 15-20K difference between the E92 335i and M3. We know there will be a difference in handling and feel between the two not to mention the M3 exclusivity and badge. Now the question to all of you is how much is the difference in handling, both subjective an objective worth? Don't flame me, I just want an thoughtful and interesting discussion . . . |

I almost forgot to mention the weight. They got it down to 3483 lbs, about 100 lbs less than the 335. That is awesome! You know there is lot of carbon fiber in that car besides the roof considering the engine, brakes, ?additional braces, etc. weigh more than the 335.

Yea, we shouldnt be worrying about beating the M3... The PROcede tuned 335s and the new e92 M3s should be setting their crosshairs on the Infinity G35 and Mercedes. Lets end this 3series civil war and make it a war against the g35s and the fake german cars (Mercedes).

But it is a crap with power. Can't compare the M and non M Bimmers...end of story. You can boost your TT to 600 HP, but it will never be an M... |

Sounds like dr325i is jealous he doesn't have a 335i. The 325i will never be an M either. At least my PROcede 335i is closer.... much closer.

Yeah, I've been over this with dr325i before, but at least he's been "converted" into a PROcede-equipped 335i believer now.

Actually not 0-60 in 4.8, 0-62 in 4.8. It will probably be listed at 4.5 0-60. |

The new M3 is a near-perfect car from my perspective -- the LSD is to kill for. I will not be able to mod my 335 anywhere close to the M. But even if I could squeeze my CA down under 50k for a bare-bones one it would not make financial sense. So I will continue to be very, very happy with my 335 even though it is not an M3.

The same holds true for the new M3 to 335. Will the M3 have 20K more performance, luxury, etc., not even close. It's already been shown that for a fraction of that cost a 335 will be able to run with the new M3. So what are you getting for all that extra money? It's the exclusivity of owning that certain product. Sure, there are other things as well like performance, handling, and others, but those things don't come close to accounting for the price difference. For most people, owning the "2nd" tier product is more than good enough for them. Especially when they get to see the look on the faces of the people in the "1st" tier product when that 2nd tier product hangs with them or beats them. |

i thought the price wasn't released yet?
even so, that sounds about right...i don't think the m3 will start at 60k as c/d says, that's way TOO much for the M3, no way BMW will increase the price over 10k usd. |
