Bad idea to buy a 2007 335?
My lease is up on my audi and I am looking into getting a 335 coupe and found one locally by a private seller that looks very nice and low miles. The only thing I am worried about is all of the issues that i've heard about with the 2007's. The oil cooler, fuel pump, and jerkiness downshifting?
This is the only thing keeping me a little hesitant on getting this car. What do you all suggest on this situation? Because I don't know too much about this. Thanks in advance! |

You should check the work history on the car first, to see what's been replaced, like fuel pumps, or injectors... I would say, if you are getting a 2007, I would recommend you get extended warranty on the car and possibly CPO if you can.

I've had my 07 for a year now and had one cold start issue that was fixed with a software update, and the car had an lpfp replaced by the original owner. I've had no other problems and it's got 47k on the clock right now. The only thing I would worry about is the production date, if you plan on putting an LSD in as it could save you a bunch of money by buying one built after they stopped welding the ring gear on.

My original plan was to get a CPO 07 335i sedan, but after reading a lot about the issues I decided to pass. Personally I would go for 09+ for the 335i. Definitely make sure its a CPO with the ext. warranty, and be sure to check out the car history regardless. Good luck!
