They believe that a bad pilot bearing might've caused premature failure as they noticed some wear on the flywheel's shaft that slides into the pilot bearing on the tranny input shaft. As far as my ACT street clutch and resurfaced clutch go I've got about 1000km on it with nothing but butter smooth operation and I'm really impressed with it...due to bad weather it hasn't yet seen any extensive high boost pulls but soon enough...thanks Encinitas!

DSS axles are working out great as well with almost 5000km on them now...thanks FBIS!

Run it until it wears out which I hope it never does i'm really happy with it so far, even more happy that I didn't spend $1900 on a new dual mass flywheel from BMW Canada (~$950 from Tischer)

I doubt it will wear that fast but knowing you and your luck, if it's going to happen to someone it will be you.

Taking out the ACT clutch was a very bad idea.
I just got back from the strip...my clutch started slipping on the second run.
The 3rd run, my OEM clutch wasn't grabbing hardly at all.
I was able to limp home but if I go WOT now any time, it will slip.

Just an update, ACT clutch is working great so far with the resurfaced OEM dual mass flywheel...not a single issue...i'm VERY pleased...warrantied CM kit is on the shelf when the time comes...Got about 2500km so far on it and about 10-20 hard core 2-3-4 gear pulls...no hard launches, its winter here, winter tires are on and its on/off snowing...

Hey, Congrats on the 9.90 ... Any details on the run? Did you save the Vbox file? Race gas? How many shifts?

I wonder how you do your 60-130 in your 6MT (gear/RPM wise)...

Thanks. I gave the Vbox file to Divexxtreme to make sure everything was legit. I started in 3rd gear and shifted to 4th.
This is where the autos have the advantage because the shift time is so much quicker so it benefits them to shift twice, where if we shift twice, our times suffer.

I can't wait to do it after the ACT goes in because honestly, I had a not so great shift with the 9.90.

CM would never pay anyone's labor on a warranty repair, even if they were 100% at fault. In my many years in the industry I can't think of one aftermarket company that would to be honest.

Warranty doesn't cover labour or shipping to them, shipping back is covered

sucks, but thats how it works.

example: my brother (he doesnt live near me... if he did, i would have just rebuilt it for him).......has put 4 engines in his jeep in the last 6 months. all of them "Covered" by "warranty", but no labor.

it was bought at the local parts house (autozone) as a complete long block with warranty.
first one, a rod cap was left loose :nuke:
second one, a piston ripped a ring land off the top of it :nuke:
the third one spun a main bearing :nuke:
this fourth one is a different story-
we got a lawyer involved with it. we are getting the engine shipped to a machine shop, where they will dissasemble and reassemble to make sure everything is correctly assembled, and we are also asking for the engine to now be essentially "Free" due to the amount of time required to replace the engine with a labor claim.

one i can see- no big deal.
two, is unusual.
three is unheard of.
this 4th better not die lol

Yah, the labor usually isn't covered, which sucks but it's the norm.
I normally do installs myself but when it comes to clutches then that's a different story.

That's just how it is, clearly stated in their warranty...I'm just really happy ClutchMasters handled this with their customer and rep in mind and warrantied the kit, unlike many situations with SPEC for example
