LED turn signals flash when starting car.

I changed my rear turn signal bulbs to LED with the proper resisters install. The lights work great and no "hyper blink" or error on the computer.

However, I've notice that when I start my car (or going into pre-ignition mode), the LED's will flash, both at the same time, a few times then stops. The flash is a quick flash where it is on for like a millisecond then off for about 3/4 of a second.

Seems to me it's like the computer is checking the lights and you can't see it on the halogens because that takes more "power" to light up. Is this normal?

This is normal for LED turn signals, they will reset after you activate them the first time.

It's the bulb check system. The car sends short pulses to make sure the bulb is working. Since LEDs use less power the short pulses turn them on/off and create a strobing effect. My LED reverse lights, license plate, and angel eye bulbs do the same thing.

Ran into the same issue when installing my LED's today which much say look AWESOME! Other than I can live w/ my car strobing for a few seconds as long it doesn't affect the electrical system

it actually strobes even after start up. If you idle your car for 5 minutes somewhere dark, get outside and pay attention. You'll see 1 cycle every minute or so....

You can disable the cold and warm bulb checks with coding and that should take care of the blinking.
