considering dinan s3

has anyone done this and been drastically moved from their s2 (other than their bank accounts)? I like to keep the cars I buy... a 414 hp all wheel car is no joke. I know... I could have picked up an m3 for comparable price all decked out.... but, the awd makes it a year round car in all weather. not looking to be flamed, just some honest opinions.

Don't do it, I have Dinan stage 2 also, and stage 3 isn't that noticeable of difference.. if anything just throw a JB+ ontop of your Dinan, which will net better gains than even what Dinan stage 3 has to offer, how does 12.7 at 113mph on street tires/19" wheels and full weight sound?. Email Burger Tuning! .. If you don't want to add a piggy to the Dinan definitely just keep the stage 2 and save your cash.

Not worth the money, the price is really for the piece of mind that they'll honor the BMW warranty. If your worried about warranty the new cobb tune looks promising. Not that it offers warranty, but the option of flashing back from tuned to stock through the OBD2 port without going to a shop or opening the DME/ECU compartment makes like easier should you need to take it in for an emergency.

Don't get both, the jb4 will just mask the dinan. Just get jb4 to start with.

Yes it is.. and you can adjust the boost as well, your options are JB+ or JB4.. the JB+ wakes the sleepy Dinan tune up by a considerable margin

Dinan/JB + combo ran a 12.7 at 113mph, it's OK :

For 414hp you need:

- Dinan free-flow exhaust ($2000)
- Dinan intake ($1100)

If you don't have them, there is no way you will make 414hp crank.

I understand its not cheap. if I piggyback jb onto dinan- Is it a mask, or is it boosting psi at the low and hi end differently on top of the dinan?

Yea, and when you add all that up you might as well just buy the best full bolt ons

An e92 stock m3(or even slightly modified) is not that fast. I easily overtake one. Now in the twisties, its a different story until you get coilovers and m3 chassis bits. The 335 awd is a really sick car, actually thats the only thing that I would change about my car. I wish I had awd. Being able to drive in shitty weather and incredible power from a dig, top end will slightly suffer bc of the added weight, but thats hardly a measurable downside. Get the Procede and you WILL not be displeased. Another viable option was Cobb, but you will have to wait for that. Dinan works with BMW and will NEVER go above what BMW allows. They dont allow Dinan to keep the original BMW warranty for nothin, its bc they are very conservative, with no advancements/enhancements of power down the road. Do what you want, after all its your car, but if you are looking for safe, reliable power, get the Procede.

This makes it OK? I guess in the sense of getting similar results to s3, but IMO neither is likely to result in long term reliability.

If I had s2 I would just stick with that and put my mod $ elsewhere.

Have you considered GIAC? They have some safe but stout gains with their software; not to mention they have -or are in the midst of releasing- an aggressive flash. Can anyone verify this for me?

I answered a previous question posted that was doubting if a JB+ would work with Dinan.. it does work, and it's another option for the OP if they chose to keep s2 and raise the power w/o going s3..
