Question Engine light issues (not the engine malfunction error)

I have UR high flow cats downpipes installed about 2 years ago and no problem since.
I was driving to Syracuse last weekend and the engine light [not the engine malfunction error] was on (a 3 hour drive).
The engine was on for the longest time (driving back to Ottawa as well).

I parked my car for two days and then I drove around town, that engine light disappeared.

It seems that engine light appears on "long distance drives".

I scanned using the Procede DME error, no error codes.
What could be the problem?
Could there be my O2 sensors defected or could the catalytic converters on those downpipes giving up?
I worry since I will have to do an emission test sometime in Fall 2011.

Thank you for your help, folks.

O2 sensors could be going bad. You need to go to autozone to get them to check codes or buy a BT cable.

Can the Procede also detect OBDII codes from the engine light warning as well?

you need to log the DME codes and see which ones comes out. Also are you using the Procede 02 sim? Do you have CAN Clear ON? Maybe your cats are starting to go bad and not cleaning gases as good as they did before.

Question

Strangely, no DME codes were recorded. 0 error code.
I leave the Procede O2 sim at 100%, no change at all.
I have the CAN Clear ON.
================================================== ===============
Can someone perhaps enlighten me as what are the typical 2 sensor damage codes and what are the typical cat malfunction codes?
That way I will r3ecognize them next time I get any error. Thank You

Probably best to just turn CANclear off and see what code pops up during a long drive. My guess is that it is a cat inefficiency code but you wont know until you try it and see what it reads. The SES light is triggered when an emissions related code is tripped. Given the aftermarket cats, that makes sense.

Question

Shiv, do you think it's the cat issues?
I kind of think that way upon visual inspections of the O2 sensor wires and connections.
