Help! Xenon Error
Hey Guys,
I've did a Halogen to Xenons conversion a while ago, and I always had errors during the fall/winter (lights not turning on, or the stupid error tone going off every couple minutes). This year I decided to do something about it, and purchased an HID kit that has the correct 55w voltage. Everything installed fine, until... I drive for a more than 5 minutes... After 5 minutes pass I get the RED SERVICE light... yea the one that's a picture of my car on a lift... The error code was CCID 231. I did some quick research and I am not the only member that had this problem after popping in a HID kit. Does anybody have any solutions? I remember a while back people mentioned error cancelers, but I haven't seen those in the forums for a long time. HELP! It gets dark so early, and I'd like to drive w/my lights on w/o the errors. Thanks! |

Note: My battery was dying, and when I swapped out the battery, the error code stopped appearing (it appeared once after a changed the battery but since then it hasn't appeared again.)
I just swapped to an ******* HID kit, seems to have fixed the problem... Unfortunately this kit does not use the D1S bulbs, so the beam pattern seems a little bit off. I'm currently trying to find a solution where the I can use D1S bulbs with my ******* HID kit. Has anybody tried this? The HID kit I have only has 2 wires for the bulb... D1S bulbs have 3 pins, requiring 3 wires... Does anybody have information related to which wire is +/- or ground? I cut the OEM D1S cable and noticed the 3 wires are the following colors: Grey, Pink, and Yellow. In retrospect... I sort of wish I kept my xenon swap w/OEM kit... too late now... |
