P990 Update

To all those that have the SE P990:

There is a new update available via the SEUS Updater, please update and confirm that the connectivity between the P990 and the bluetooth in our cars is still not working.

I would do it myself, but I'm only getting my 328xi w/iDrive in February.

Thanks,

Dmitriy

cdheaven,

here is the link: http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?...21839&esi=true .

You actually have to download the update software and use the USB cable to update your phone. There will be instructions once you start up the program. DO NOT FORGET TO BACK UP YOUR PHONE!!! The update will erase EVERYTHING. After you update, just restore the back up that is on your computer, its very easy.

Thanks,

Dmitriy

Thumbs down Sorry for the BAD NEWS

Well....
It was not meant to be.

After P990 firmware update, NO LUCK.
It does the same as before, pairs but does not connect.

FYI, my car has progman 23/24 (updated last month).

I guess I will sell my P990 & stick with old P910.

Its not SE fault.

Its one of the only phones they produce that doesnt use their own OS flavour.

Its symbians fault!

Almost every other SE works fine. My k800i works perfect

I would love a P990, regardless of weather it synced or not. If anyone wants to trade theres for an unlocked Cingular 8125 .

wow! Jspira, if you have a minute, can you explain this a little more in detail. what is a tcu, why would it be different, does this detail lead you to believe bmw is more responsible for the incompatibility or SE is more responsible?
