I am on my 5th BMW now and although I have ventured away to other manufacturers from time to time, I have always come back.
I only have a 4 pot but it just seems so much quieter and civilised than other 4-cylinder cars.
Dick Lovett Swindon have always looked after my cars and have always been curtious, friendly and I have found the level of their service to be excellent.
My E93 is currently in the dealership to have an annoying squeak fixed which seems to be moving around the car, which apart from a problem with one seal in the early days is the only issue I have had.
Granted, they have had it for a week now but they didnt want to let it go until they had found what was causing the problem. New parts arrive tomorrow as they think they have found the problem but in case they havent they have already made another prelimary booking with another courtesy car in case I have to bring it back.
When I come out of the company car scheme this year I will be taking a long hard look at 6-pot E93's or maybe the new 5er. I love BMW's and plan to stay with them for a long time to come.

Well you're right about that bit. After stewing for a few days, and getting some good news on my contract yesterday , I decided to take the plunge on getting a USB retrofit.

Before Xmas I'd had a quote, £220-ish for the parts and 'about' 2 hours labour - so about £500-ish all-in. The printed quote only had the parts amount on though.

Rang today to ask them to do that while they're sorting the clutch out, they now want £805 for it

As well as the 2.5 hours for 'real' fitting they're now charging 1.5 hours for coding FFS. I argued the toss with them that it hardly requires 1.5 man-hours to plug it in and let it rip but they're having none of it. They say according to the BMW instructions that's the standard, yet the fitting instructions I have say 2 hours (mine has SA644 BT fitted) and 0.5 hours mechanical/1.0 hours electrical issue resolution.

Needless to say it's not being fitted. Do they really not want business?

Quite right. I was charge £60 for investigation for a problem which was later fixed under warranty. I complained via letter.
Phone call prior to Xmas from them saying they would refund it and someone would be in touch straight after the New Year.
13th of January today, anyone been in touch...??
Have they feck!
Looks like it's me on the phone tomorrow!

Mate I would try Sandals in huddersfield a try. Call them and speak to Mark Huggins, hes the service manager, very friendly guy and if you explain to him how Williams in Rochdale have messed you about etc im sure he will be able to sort something out for u.

I say this cos i have been to them couple of times now, had my service done there and they were the cheapest by far, bought my screen wash there (they gave me 5 x 1ltr bottles for the same price that Williams are selling the 5Ltr gallon for), and when quoting me for the fuel tank breather pipe, he has knocked the price down from 620 all in to 440 all in and said its open at that price for a month for me.

So give them a try, see what they say
