Diagnostic software

Hey team,

Just bought a wee Elm327 1.4

Was wondering if anyone has used these with E9x's and if so, what software would you recommend

Thanks
Andy

I looked around before purchasing the BT cable (and free software). I would guess 99% of the (worldwide) BMW community using a diagnostic tool, is using this. Cost me about €300 delivered into my place, expensive, but it works, and is updated regulary. It lists faultcodes no OBD tool will ever display (i know as I've that too), and displays stuff like DPF backpressure, and much more. Only downside is you need a PC (laptop) you can install the software on - I got a cheap notebook

cheers,

Martin

Guess should have explained: there's two sets of OBD codes/data. One set is generic, and available to any OBD reader. More comprehensive data is available to those willing to pay (look up EC Block Excemption if you want to get into the details of this). Within the BT cable & software you pay for this additional access, and it's the reason why the Enthousiast version is limited to reading 3 cars max. Same software with unlimited access is 3-4 times the price..
