MV3 Wheel Colour
Hi Folks,
I have a very small mark on one of my wheels. I don't think it merits a refurb but I would like to touch it in. I was recommended a guy who works as The Paint Medic which is franchised but I was told he was good. When I took the car to him yesterday he immediately said he couldn't do it because of the finish on the new BMWs (also Mercs) was such that it couldn't be matched using his method. So in order to remove this minor defect I would be looking at a four wheel refurb in order to get them all the same. This isn't really an option as it would be using a sledge hammer to crack a nut. So does anyone know of a paint match which would just colour match (I'll accept near enough) to disguise the defect. My Wheel 2010 E90 MV3 TIA.

Where's the damage on that wheel? It looks perfect to me
Have you had any dealer quotes? It doesn't sound to me like it's going to take up hours of painting and polishing, perhaps they'll be flexible. |

That photo looks like it was taken, when the car had just rolled out the showroom.

Thanks for the replies,
Yes, that photo was just to identify the wheel and colour I was talking about. The photo was talken after I cleaned it for the first time. I've just had all four wheels off today and cleaned them thoroughly. I have found two kerb like marks, both myself and my wife deny doing them, and a couple of lighter scratches. I'll get some pics up. No Anneka, I hadn't considered using the dealer but I will call them to see what they say. I assumed it would be too small a job and they would be too expensive. I thought it was a blanket £120/hour for their time. I would however be interested if you could tell me how I could acquire some of the paint you use yourselves, or at least the colour. I may wait till I have collected a few more then refurb them in a more standard colour.

Coupe, just re read your first post about the wurth paint. The reviews sound good. One guy mentioned getting a touch up kit from ebay, that might be an answer.
The guy I took it to had said that it was the finish on the newer BMWs that he couldn't match. Is this the colour that you linked to, or is it an older finish? Cheers.
