in theory it should be "ok" to leave it.. but unlikley.. there are many many intakes for sale in the classifieds ( I wonder why)

but WHY would you buy one (and loose $$$) for just a few mos use?

oo interesting so your keeping the car after lease?? right on
not many do that.

it should still be OK.... from all I read it seems to be dealer dependent on if its a "problem" or not. Maybe if you take the stock airbox with you they can say its ok

why would you not. go for it, i did, sound decent, sorta loud, compared to my EIS on my e46. if in reality i think this week i got a bit better gas mileage. sounds crazy but i got about 25 miles over normal out of a full tank. and that was givin it some sport shifts on the E way. over all i will give it a 8 outta 10, sounds deep but between 3500-40000 its a bit loud for a bmw.

just my .02 again its a week into my experience w/ a AFE.

I'd reinstall the factory intake if you are going to take it in for CPO inspection.

I have the aFe DCI on mine. Never took it off for anything. If there's a problem with a stock intake component in the car, they might try to blame the DCI. If there isn't, they can't say anything. But it's a quick swap so if you wanted to you always could.

When I had the AFE Intake on my car, the dealer still did routine maintenances and fuel pump replacements with no questions ask. Although, one day I did notice that the mechanic wrote a note saying that my car wasn't stock.

But to be extra safe, you should take off when you go in for major services.
