+1, thats exactly what I tip when I get a "large" amount of work done. Little stuff I dont tip or just throw um a 20

I just feel like they should just do the work! I know all about BMW voiding warrantys, but the downpipes and intercooler in all honesty DO NOT effect HPFP or a oil pan.

I just checked under my 335i coupe and the sleeve appears to be leaking. My luck though my warrenty exp in Oct 2010. Is their any reason why the dealer likes to change the tranny oil pan when the sleeve is leaking. I can clearly see the oil trail from the sleeve to the top of the tranny oil pan. It sucks that to remove the $15 sleeve one needs to drain the pan and remove it. BTW i have only 52k miles on my 335i.

Lmk how it goes at the dealer and how much it would have cost if it was not under warrenty. After looking on the forums the price range is about 500 - 900 bucks.

I had this happened to me couple time before. It WAS the tranny oil leak. It's right in the center portion of the car and the oil is almost clear color. I was surprised to find out that BMW used the tranny fluid that's not red color.

This is a defect from BMW that the tranny gasket was guarantee to leak after a while. It was under warranty if you're covered. The fix took about 2 hours and BMW will replace the gasket for free. They will re-use the tranny fluid because the fluid is so expensive from the factory

LMK know how much it would have cost if you were paying out of pocket. I did find a website that sales everything you need to fix the issue. thectsc.com. Also is it a sedan or couple and if you can please post the invoice that BMW gives u if you can.

Basically
tranny oil pan is approx 130
Which includes new filiter and gaskets

If only the gasket it is 20.38
Sealing Sleeve is 15.48
Plus 15 shipping.

Also the tranny fluid found it on getbmwparts.com
12.70 for 1/2 liter plus shipping

Finished the work myself and so far everything works I just need to add more tranny fluid since when I drained it alittle over 6 liters came out. The kit that I bought from thectsc only came with 6 liters. I test drove though and it shifts very nice.

Cost break down 256.36 (Tranny oil pan, Filler plug, Gasket, Tranny Sleeve, and 6 liters ZFLifeguard)
Troque wrench and trox bits: 180
2 addition liters of ZFLifeguard: 40
Total 476.36
Dealer wanted 1180 for tranny oil change and sleeve or 900 for just changing the sleeve and reusing the old oil.
Savings 703.64 and I got some tools out of it.
