matte black or gloss black trim on 09 335i?

i have a 2007 335i coupe space gray and dislike the silver trim around my windows. i want the look of the 09 option black trim and was wondering if it was a matte black or gloss black trim that comes on it (or if both are an option) also would you guys trust shadowline trim to put on your car? thanks

Gloss black...Would I trust it being installed? By a BMW dealership or maybe some VERY reputable I hear it's not that easy of a job but it does look good

Its gloss black. but make sure it matches your front grill. so if your doing gloss black, buy some performance grills too.

Is it because you can't see the contrast?

ends up just looking like poor paint matching IMO. Plus the matte will at least match your grills and plastic portion that attaches you mirror to the pillar.

When working with blacks, it either has to be a match or have a different kind of finish (flat/satin/gloss)

I'm on the fence with this one. I have a JB e92 and I went w/ gloss black. Looks great, definitely "sporty." The "only" issue/concern I had with it is because it's glossy and takes sunlight & reflects differently (than the matte would) it'll show every damn imperfection on your trim. Just my 2 cents

I recently purchased another roll of matte black just to change it up

So yours was vinyl? I'm debating if I should do gloss or matte black for my BSM E93. I'm getting it painted though. I wanted it to match my BMW performance grills. But If I go matte, I guess I can get matte black grills.

Now you guys got my all confused as to which one to go with.

i'm doing matte black w a friend on my crimson e92. i have the matte black grille set as well to go with (hence why i went matte black trim). i'll post my results.

went with this company www.shadowlinetape.com

$22, free shipping, and enough tape to do 4-5 window trims. so if i fuck up i can redo it, if i super fuck up and give up, then i'm only down $22, and can use it as super sporty electrical tape. i got the tape in last night. standby for awesome or retarded pictures....

Oh damn, sorry for the confusion. Didn't know you were intending to paint your trim. Should've read more closely I guess . Yeah, mine is vinyl. I went with vinyl because you can take it off if need be and have your oem silver trim.

I honestly would do whichever matches your grilles like everyone else had said. My grilles are painted to match my car so gloss was the easy choice. But, I feel like changing up the look a bit so that's why I ordered the matte vinyl this time around.

Don't worry, whichever you pick it'll look good!

checkout ww.bmwshadowline.com for the vinyl. I'm not sure if shadowlinetape has changed it's materials but I've heard some stories about the product in the past i.e. "material identical to electrical tape", "tape not wide enough to cover the back bend of the trim", etc. I haven't looked too much into their product though, so maybe I'm wrong. GL!
