BMW Wide World (Nanuet, NY) trying to screw me??
Wassup guys,
I'd appreciate any input or advice you all could give as to what I should do because i'm just f*^kin pissed!!!!!!! So about a month ago I had brought my car in for giving me the engine malfunction/reduced power error message while bucking after a cold start & initially I was told by my Service Rep. Steve K. that it was a fault with the fuel injectors & that they would be replaced. So a few days after I received that call he called me back again saying he confirmed w/ corporate & that all my car really needed was a software update & this is after they've had my car for about 2 weeks!! I kind of found that pretty hard to believe but went with it since it's all covered under warranty. So after I picked up my car from the software update my car had a small scratch (which they agreed to fix) & the radio and iPod connectivity wasn't working along with the #6 preset button was stuck. (Please note that about 2 years ago my #5 preset had become stuck after some soda that was in my cupholder spilled onto it.) So all in all they diagnosed the car after I dropped it off again & are telling me I need a new radio & interface which costs $1,500 installed!!!!! Everything was working fine before this software update so I find it hard to believe that the 2-year old soda finally shut down the radio, oh & btw my car still bucks occasionally after a cold start!! PLEASE HELP GUYS!!! -THANK YOU |

Is this the dealership you brought the car? If so, the service rep reminds us to give them a 5. Well, you tell them the problem didn't occur before, but why after you pick it up. Let them know you are not paying for it. Tell them if BMW NA calls about the service survey, you won't give them a 5, much less a 0 for their type of service. Take it to another dealer but call them first if they provide you a loaner.

go to a different dealer. ur car is a 2008 and should be covered under warranty. there should be no out of pocket payments for non wear and tear items.

Or just call BMW or NA and report the bad service to them, its main headquarters and they dont take these calls very light at all. Go to a difference dealership , explain what happened and whats going on and usually if the service rep is cool they will help ya.

I don't personally have anything done to my car to effect my warranty in any way shape or form. However, there are many users on this forum who have heavily modified cars. They then put their cars back to stock and bring them to the dealership for warranty work. If BMWNA is surfing this forum regularly and can simply pull up your info here, then some will be needing to edit posts or censor some of the things they say.
